Top Ten Tuesday

The Broke and The Bookish: May 12: Ten Authors I REALLY Want To Meet

  1. Jón Kalman Stefánson. I would like to meet him in his own
environment; in Iceland and talk about nature in fiction.

  2. Jeanette Winterson. What about her view of mother/daughter
relations nowadays? And the importance of having a father.

  3. Haruki Murakami. I´d like to ask him about the favourite
  literature of his own.

  4. Dennis Lehane. I like the sociological approach in his novels.

  5. Édouard Louis. What moves in the head of a very young author?

6David Peace. How about his connection to Japan these days?

  7. Yōko Ogawa (小川 洋子) A very known Japanese writer, born 1962

  8. Kate Atkinson. I´d like to discuss her writing technique with her

  9. Hilary Mantel. She is a very interesting writer and appears to be a nice
      person as well.

10. Jenny Nordberg. She is very famous for her work as a journalist. Her book
The Underground girls of Kabul: In search of a hidden resistance in Afghanistan has got her many prices

  2. Murakami hade varit kul att träffa, om inte annat för att själv kolla om han är lika konstig som sina böcker :)

  8. Thank you for visiting my blog earlier. It is very interesting to see your list which is quite international. I also love to meet another European blogger whose mother tongue is not English (like myself).

I am especially interested in Jenny Nordberg and her book "The Underground girls of Kabul". I have read quite a few books about Afghanistan and my favourite there is The Sewing Circles of Herat which is on a very similar topic.

Hope to talk to you again soon,

  9. I agree with you! I love to meet bloggers from other countries. I read quite a lot of English books, and I like the English language, but I`m always afraid of not expressing myself correctly when writing and talking in English. Still I keep on practising... I´ll look out for The sewing circles of Herat

    1. I wouldn't worry about that too much, I think we worry about it a lot more than the native speakers. But through practise we get better every day. Looking forward to more of your posts.
