      This book everyone ought to read!

  2. Jennifer Clement, Prayers for the Stolen
      The survival of young (pretty) women in Mexico

  3. Nadifa Mohamed,  Orchard of lost Souls  
      Somalia in the seventies at the verge of a civil war
               
  4. Megan Abbott, Dear me
      Highschool girls excersising for a competition in 
      cheerleading
      
  5. Kamila Shamsie, Burnt shadows
      Young teacher Hanako survives the atomic bomb 
      but loses everyting else, including her fiancé
      
  6. Deszo Kosztolanyi, The Skylark
      Hungary, it is 1900; Skylark is the daughter of a 
      mother who keeps home and a retired father most 
      interested in heraldry. Skylark is a little old to be 
      unmarried.
  
  7. Marilynne Robinson, Lila
      From the American midwest at about 1920. 
      An amazing novel!
 
  8. Daniel Defoe, Moll Flanders
      A Masterpiece, said Virginia Woolf. Written in 1772.
 
  9. Jessie Burton, The Miniaturist
      A remarkable debut!  In 1686 young newly wed 
      Nella Oortman knocks at the door to her rich 
      husband´s house in Amsterdam. She is not let in.
      
10. Svetlana Aleksijevitj, War´s unwomanly Face 
      A choir of female voices about theri experiences in 
      the Second World War. A very deserving winner of 
      the Nobel Prize in Literature 2015!

  1. cheerleading - många duktiga flickor var med i barnens orkester... men så lite musik nu, blåsare utdöende?

  2. i den här staden = gammal militärstad finns ett överflöd av blåsare som tar stor plats. stråkarna lever i skuggan, kan en säga. men cheerleaders har vi inte...
